Heading Home
We have run into unexpected medical issues and must end this session of the voyage of Mystique. Steve spent the weekend in the Morehead City hospital with a GI bleed. It was mild, but continues. So.....we unfortunately we were advised not to be too far from medical facilities, and definitely not to be out in the Atlantic or in the ICW. For those of you who have seen the marshes of GA, you know that that country is about as far from civilization as you can get. (apologies to those of you from GA....). So we will be putting the boat up here and returning to Frisco this weekend. We are really bummed, but feel this is the best course.

Guys, I am so sorry for all this. I hope you feel better, Dad, and that you both get home with all (the rest of) your fingers and toes.
Maybe you guys should issue a disclaimer to the other passengers on your flight home.
:(
What a downer!
Yes. This is a very crappy (no pun intended... ok, maybe a little one) development. I am so sorry to hear this. But at least you will get to Frisco in time to warm up the slopes for the rest of us! I do hope this all clears up soon and you can return to the Mystique for its Atlantic cruise! Lots of love.
When sadness lingers
About going home early.
Give thanks for fingers.

Oh my, how very dreadful. After so much planning and anticipation. I'm not sure how much to interpret from the term "GI bleed." Is this, like, a bleeding ulcer? Do you know the cause? Is this a new dimension to Steve's life that will put him in a different dynamic?
And of course, the biggest question, does this mean you'll be in Jefferson for Thanksgiving?
Love, Helen
I've never posted a comment, and I don't particularly like being "anonymous." It's late and I just want to post this and not get hung up in the histrionics of how to do blog comments. Andy, Megan, Jeremy, are you on board with Google Blogs with an account and everything? I feel rather like I've missed a cue in a play, missed my line, but the play went on and everyone else knew what was going on.
At least you folks know who I am and that's all that matters!
Helen
